《经济学人》的报道总共有三处被涂黑，包括第一段述说“警方在709集会当天向人群发射催泪弹和水炮，而一名男子因为心脏病死亡” 的部分。

当中，“而一名男子因为心脏病死亡”（and one man died of a heart attack）的部分，也被涂黑。

（我实在难顶，如果读者找来看，一名男子因为心脏病死亡也被涂，难道不引起更大的猜测？全国主流媒体都说他是心脏病死亡的，这说法家属不能接受。反倒，连国阵也不能接受？哈哈）

至于第二个被涂黑的部分，则是第二段最后一句。有关句子是“这个游行已被禁止，虽然有关当局曾献议净选盟一个体育馆，然后又收回献议”。（The march itself was then banned, although the authorities offered Bersih a stadium to meet in—and then withdrew the offer.）

最后一个被涂黑的部分，是第四段第二句和第三句。有关句子是指，警方重手镇压的伎俩已经引发许多愤怒；政府已同意对警察暴力展开正式调查。其中一个（被影片拍到的）例子是警方向医院发射催泪弹和水炮，示威者当时在那里寻求庇护。
