Dreams that are not in harmony
MARTIN Luther King Jr in one of his far-reaching speeches was once quoted: “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character”.
In stark contrast, here is a quote by the ex-Selangor Mentri Besar Khir Toyo from his blog: “My dream is to see that the Malays once again become the backbone which will stabilise the politics in the country”.
Our people will not live in harmony and therefore the country will not prosper as long as leaders continue to view the governance of this nation drawn along racial lines.
VIJAYANDHRAN VALAYATHAM,
